I read music at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, and then specialised in the cello at the Royal Academy of Music, London, with David Strange. I continued my studies with Joan Dickson and William Pleeth. I undertake both solo work and chamber music engagements.
This year I played Shostakovich's 1st cello concerto with Letchworth Sinfonia and am performing twice for the Cambridge Szeged Society. Recent concerts with my chamber ensemble, Cerberus, have included performances at Emmanuel United Reformed Church and the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, St Bride's, Fleet Street, London, and at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.
I also play for weddings and special occasions as a soloist and in chamber groups.
As a cello teacher I give private lessons to pupils aged from 6 to over 70, from complete beginners to diploma standard. Music theory and aural training are also offered. One to one tuition can be supplemented with ensemble classes, and I occasionally run workshops which give pupils a chance to perform with piano accompaniment in front of their peers.
